Description
The Oresteia by Ellen McLaughlin
A contemporary adaptation of the Greek revenge cycle The Oresteia. McLaughlin’s version focuses on the women, Klytemnestra grappling with the death of her daughter, and Electra, struggling with the aftermath of her father’s death. Rich with themes of war and the notion of justice, retribution, and forgiveness, McLaughlin updates this classic play into contemporary language.
