Innovative way to recycle skateboard decks

Industrial Design student Nicholas Parent has won the Sustainable Design Award and a scholarship of $2,500 for Boardslide, a wall bracket system that can be used as a skateboard holder or can mount and reuse old skateboard decks as shelves.
Some 2 million skateboard decks are landfilled each year. Parent says his design not only re-purposes used materials, it also results in less landfill. Congratulations Nicholas!
