The Teaching in French Task Force is offering two new workshops to support teachers preparing to offer specific education, complementary, or Humanities courses in French. In these new workshops, we invite you to join a group of teachers to reflect on and share strategies for student engagement and evaluation in the context of teaching in French. Strategies for engaging learning activities (bilingual) by Jeff Gandell & Chantale Gigu猫re
In this workshop, participants will reflect together on challenges of teaching and learning IN French. They will explore strategies to develop engaging learning activities and will start implementing them by developing /adapting an activity for their own course.

This pedagogical workshop aims to help teachers design assessments that are accessible for all students, overcoming language barriers in courses IN French. We will explore how different assessments might mitigate the new context of teaching students with varying levels of French, while still evaluating competency development. During the workshop, participants will be guided to create their own evaluation rubric that is tailored to the intended learning outcomes of their course and the linguistic diversity of their students.
