Winning the Paul Gallagher Award is a validation for the hard work that Ken'Nikahontehsa Norton-Montour聽has done over the last three years.

In her nomination letter, teacher Vanessa Robillard said that Ken'Nikahontehsa 鈥渉as shown a consistent commitment to persevere and excel in any circumstance and strikes the balance between academic and personal responsibilities. Not only is Ken鈥橬ikahontehsa dedicated to her studies, but has actively contributed to College life.鈥

Science Valedictorian lived the full Dawson experience despite pandemic

It was challenging to live life to the fullest during the early phase of the pandemic. If you need some inspiration for making the most of life, read on about Enriched Science soon-to-be graduate Megan Oleksiw, one of Dawson鈥檚 three valedictorians for the Class of 2022.

Speaking as valedictorian 鈥渋s a touching honour,鈥 Megan said in an interview with Dawson鈥檚 Communications Office, 鈥渆specially given the heartfelt attachment I feel toward our college community. 张百乔女友裸照 and the exceptional people I鈥檝e been privileged to exchange with have empowered me to actively strive to be my best self.鈥

Hats off to Mech Tech student Erica Dubois and Computer Science student Kausar Mussa!

Always being the different one. Having to adjust to other ways of thinking. Working with people who hold misogynistic attitudes. These are just a few things that are still experienced by women in male-dominated fields of study and work.

The Chapeau, les filles! (Hats Off to You) awards are given to women in Quebec to encourage and support those who choose to study in these fields and persevere. This year, two Dawson students have won at the provincial level: Erica Dubois in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Kausar Mussa in Computer Science Technology.

Linnea Nguyen, poised to take on the world

SALTISE Award: Cory Legassic鈥檚 rising star

Don鈥檛 be fooled by Cory Legassic鈥檚 youthful appearance. He will be the first to pull off his cap to show you a shock of gray hair. It鈥檚 all in the attitude that makes some mistake him for a student.

While student engagement and student success have been foremost on his mind since he began at Dawson in 2009 as a New School facilitator with retired New School maverick Greta Hofmann Nemiroff, Cory鈥檚 own academic success is being rewarded by SALTISE with its Best Practices & Pedagogical Innovators Award for College instructors.

Liberal Arts valedictorian Arwen Low is passionate about civic activism

Despite spending her first year of CEGEP online, Liberal Arts student Arwen Low was quick to get involved in the Dawson community life. Her efforts in making a difference for her fellow students have led to her nomination as valedictorian. She will be addressing Dawson graduates in Social Science & Business Technologies of 2022 at the 2:30 p.m. Graduating Ceremony on June 22 at Place des Arts.

Goal-oriented grad Yves-Jusslin Maniratanga receives Paul Gallagher Award

During his time at Dawson, Yves-Jusslin Maniratanga has demonstrated strong leadership, contributing much to campus life through his work with the Dawson Student Union (DSU). For him, being granted the Paul Gallagher Award is an honour, and "feels great because it demonstrates the appreciation of the Dawson community," he said.

Cathy Roy honoured with SALTISE Award for College Instructors

Since joining Dawson in 2015, Cathy Roy has sparked an excitement for new adventures in pedagogy, fostering greater collaboration and creativity within the Physiotherapy Technology Department.

Her ingenuity has won her a 2022 SALTISE Best Practices & Pedagogical Innovators Award, which she will receive at the 11th edition of the鈥疭ALTISE Conference鈥痮n June 2-3.

鈥淭here is no room for boredom or stagnation in teaching. No two days have felt the same since I started,鈥 said Cathy.

Students present neuroscience projects at 89th edition of ACFAS

May 18th, 2022

Four teams of Dawson students from the Dawson Research in Neuroscience Group presented their research projects at the 89th edition of the ACFAS conference on May 9-10. In the May 9 colloquium, each team had three minutes to reveal their study, before answering questions by fellow researchers over Zoom. The May 10 colloquium gave 15 minutes for each presentation, with five minutes of questions.
