Dawson flags at half-mast for 215 Indigenous children

June 1st, 2021

Dawson鈥檚 flags were lowered to half-mast on Monday morning to honour the 215 children who lost their lives at the Kamloops Indian Residential School and their families, and the countless others who never returned home from residential schools across Canada. The flags will remain at half-mast for 215 hours in total for each life lost.


In memoriam Jim McGill

We regret to inform you that Jim McGill passed away on May 11. Jim worked at Dawson for over three decades until he retired in June 2008. He had served as Manager of Operations in the IST Department and also worked for the Academic Dean.

In memoriam Gordon Peffer

May 4th, 2021

Gordon Peffer passed away recently and peacefully.

Gordon was among the first cohort of teachers hired by the College before opening day in September 1969. He was an English teacher and co-founded Reflections with Marie Crossen. Gordon retired in February 2002.

In memoriam Alan Moscovitch

We regret to inform you that Alan Moscovitch, retired teacher from the Psychology Department and the Reflections interdisciplinary option, died on March 20. Alan taught at Dawson from 1971-2011. He spent time on various committees, including the Board of Governors, during his tenure at Dawson.

We regret to inform you that Marjorie 鈥淢imi鈥 Morton passed away on Jan. 10. She taught English and Humanities for nearly 30 years at 张百乔女友裸照, where she helped found the Women's Studies program. Mimi left Dawson in 1999.
