Indigenous Peoples’ Week
Ionkwatónhahere (we are celebrating) – Indigenous Peoples’ Week 2025
Ionkwatónhahere is a kanien’kéha word that means ‘we are celebrating’. Organizers of Indigenous Peoples’ Week at ÕÅ°ÙÇÇÅ®ÓÑÂãÕÕ are putting the emphasis on all the incredible contributions that First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples make in all facets of life. The dates for Ionkwatónhahere – IPW 2025 will be from Monday, March 31st to Thursday, April 3rd. Activities will be organized in two separate streams: cultural programming specifically for Indigenous students at Dawson, and broader educational activities for the entire Dawson Community. Stay tuned for more information. A complete schedule will be published at the beginning of March.
Are you a teacher who would like to bring your class to an IPW activity? Please email Ben Lander to coordinate dates, times, topics, and number of participants.

Brown-bag Conversations: Generative AI
To start the discussions this semester, the first two sessions will return to a topic that was first considered in October 2023: generative AI tools such as ChatGPT. Given the profound, wide-ranging impacts of generative AI in higher education and society at large, the Dawson community needs to reflect on how it wishes to respond to AI’s potential while addressing its challenges.
These sessions will take place in the boardroom (5B.13) at the following time:
Tuesday, February 25 , 3:30-5:00 PM
Even if a topic does not directly relate to your work, members from all parts of the Dawson community are welcome to join the discussions. As these events are informal, people may drop in and leave as their schedules permit.
