Appointment of new Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies
At a special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors on September 2, Leanne Bennett was unanimously approved as the new Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies. She will take up her duties effective immediately, succeeding Diane Gauvin who has taken up the position of Academic Dean.
Leanne started at Dawson in 2002 as a faculty member in Humanities. She chaired the department from June 2008 to June 2010. In August 2010, she became Assistant Dean in the Social Science and Business Technologies sector, a position she held until being named Dean.
Leanne graduated with an MA in History from Concordia University, and completed the coursework for a PhD at the School of Oriental Studies, University of London in the U.K. Before coming to Dawson, she was the director of the Mackay Center Camp for physically disabled children and adults, as well as deaf children from 1993-2002.
We know the Community will support Leanne as she takes on her new duties.
