Social Change & Solidarity: Local Stream
The Social Change & Solidarity (SCS) profile is building on the 30-year legacy of the North-South Studies profile, by offering a new local stream for the social justice project in the second year. This will be an opportunity to engage in community-based experiential learning and solidarity with social movements in Montreal/Quebec. Students in the local and global streams will support each other to develop a sense of both local stewardship and global interdependence. The new Local Stream will be provided at no cost to students. For our pilot year (2024-2025) of the local stream, students will have the opportunity to learn deeply about migrant justice (and its intersecting issues), in partnership with over a dozen local activists and community organizations.
