Revised Program for Fall 2025
Exciting Updates to Our 3D Animation and CGI Program
- Improved Course Flow: We’ve adjusted the order of our courses to help students build skills step-by-step. For example, you’ll dive into ZBrush (digital sculpting) earlier, while texturing is now taught later, when students are more ready for it.
- More Unreal Engine: As an official Epic Games academic partner, we’ve added more focus on Unreal Engine, giving students more hands-on experience with this industry-leading tool.
- Earlier Project Development: The big film project, which used to be a 3rd-year capstone, now starts in the 2nd year, giving students more time to develop and refine their ideas.
- Aligned Supporting Courses: Courses from related disciplines are now better integrated with the goals of our program, so everything you learn is directly connected to your growth as a 3D artist.
- Art Fundamentals Still Strong: We’re committed to core artistic skills, with classes in life drawing, film aesthetics, art history, and acting for animation.
- Collaborative Learning: More classes are now designed to work together. For example, assignments from the acting class will connect with what you learn in the motion capture (mocap) class.
- Specialization Options: Some new courses will allow students to dive deeper into areas of personal interest and develop specialized skills.
- Focus on Professional Skills: In addition to technical expertise, our new courses will help students grow important interpersonal skills like teamwork, professionalism, and problem-solving—key to success in the industry.
- Cutting-Edge Technology: Many of our new courses focus on the latest software, digital tools, and technical skills used by today’s top studios.
- Integrated Artistic Skills: Artistic skills, such as character design, are now taught as part of practical courses like modeling, making it easier for students to apply their creativity directly to their projects.
- Innovation in Animation: In the second year, students will take two new courses focused on the latest innovations and technologies shaping the future of animation.
