Bringing Research To Life
The pivotal moments of a researcher鈥檚 journey often go unseen by the public, occurring in remote locations or in tucked-away laboratories. But the breadth and diversity of research endeavors at Canadian universities should be celebrated and shared widely.
At Queen鈥檚 University, for the sixth consecutive year, faculty, students, staff, and alumni have drawn on their creativity to share their work through 鈥淭he Art of Research鈥 photo contest. 鈥淸The competition] takes us behind the scenes, bringing to life what our researchers experience in the lab, the archives, and the field, in the pursuit of new knowledge,鈥 said Michael Fraser, vice-principal, university relations.
This year鈥檚 contest has been re-imagined through the lens of the United Nations鈥 Sustainable Development Goals, with each winner aligned with one or more of the 17 global calls to action. 鈥淥ur audiences are interested in how research is helping to change the world and this striking collection of images tells a visual story of our wide-ranging impact,鈥 said Mr. Fraser.
