Students interview visual artist Renee Condo

This week, Dawson became one of the few places in Canada to host an exhibition by a nominee of the prestigious Sobey Art Award. Renee Condo is a visual artist of Mi鈥檊maw descent, hailing from the community of Gesgapegiag, Qu茅bec. Shifting Perspectives features her artwork constructed from wooden beads at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery until May 6. 听On a recent Tuesday afternoon, two visual arts students, Ella Gauthier and Alessandro Ruvo, had the opportunity to ask Condo a few questions.

It's the last week to go see The Trial, presented by the Professional Theatre Program!
Joseph K has been arrested鈥攂ut for what crime? Adapted from the Kafka novel, the Trial is an absurdist comedy about the bureaucracy of the legal system. Directed by Michael Hughes and performed by the third-year graduating students in their final performance at Dawson.

Don't miss out on Dawson's unique art fundraising event Artists in Bloom happening tomorrow, April 20 starting 5:30 p.m.

What to expect: For the first time since 2019, Artists in Bloom is back! Over two dozen talented student artists in the 3D Animation and Computer Generated Imagery, Illustration and Visual Arts 张百乔女友裸照 will create new works of art over a two-hour period, which will then be auctioned off by Montreal personality Donna Saker of The Beat 92.5.
All funds raised will go to support Dawson鈥檚 sustainability activities under the Living Campus Fund. Enjoy being with the Dawson community, watch art being created, listen to live music, vote for your favourite painting, and chat with fellow art lovers. The Kids鈥 Corner will also be where young, budding artists (7 years old and up; limited spots available) can paint on their own canvases.
Professional Theatre Program presents The Trial听

Directed by Michael Hughes, third-year students from the Professional Theatre Department will put on a production of Steven Berkoff鈥檚 The Trial from April 24-May 6.
The dark but humourous play, which Berkoff based upon an unfinished novel of the same name written by Franz Kafka in 1914-15, centers around Josef K. A young man who has been arrested and has no idea why. While he is awaiting trial, he attempts to discover what is going on but the more Josef looks into things the deeper and deeper in trouble he finds himself.听听听

Vernissage Season begins May 23 听

The countdown is on to Vernissage Season at Dawson. Graduating students in Visual Arts, Illustration, Professional Photography, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, 3D Animation and Computer Generated Imagery and Interior Design will present their work in end-of-year exhibitions.

On Thursday evening, April 27, it is finally time to come together, celebrate solidarity and raise funds to support NSS activities, including the 2023-2024 Field Trip to Cuba. It is a North-South tradition to have a community building and fundraising event once a year. In the past, we have held the Spaghetti dinner, the Gallo Pinto dinner, and the Viva Cuba event, and now we would like to invite you to the North-South Soir茅e on April 27 at 5:30 p.m. in 5B.16.
The evening program includes:

Earth Weeks 2023 at Dawson

A full program of activities is happening at Dawson from April 17-28 for students and employees , connect with Nature and learn about ways to live more sustainably.
On Tuesday, April 18, Jonathan Egan鈥檚 Introduction to Outdoor Education Class participated in a Bioblitz in the Peace Garden with Biology teacher Brian Mader, who is leading the 1,000 Species in 1,000 Days initiative. For a few hours, the students observed life in the Peace Garden and added to Dawson鈥檚 count. One way, they observed many kinds of life was by lifting up a slab of old tree trunk in the eco circle of the Peace Garden (pictured).
All students and employees are invited to help identify 1,000 plants, animals and other kinds of life on our city block in downtown Montreal. To date, a total of 455 species have been identified. From April 10-17, the 张百乔女友裸照-Campus Biodiversity Network on the free app had 58 new observations, 12 new species added, and four new observers.
Rocking out at Dawson VIB event March 29

A lively event stopped by Dawson on March 29 to move and inspire students and staff. The VIB event is touring campuses across Quebec to promote well-being and health. The event featured a Pound also known as 鈥渞ocking out鈥 workout, pictured; photo courtesy of RSEQ.
One of College Nurse Julie Gosselin鈥檚 student health ambassadors reported: 鈥淭he participants really enjoyed the event and they liked their free merch. People seemed to really enjoy the Pound session as well since most of them had never done it before
鈥淚 think the event was really cool! It was a great way to promote physical activity during a time period when students are stressed and tend to forget the little things we should do to stay healthy.鈥

芦Je pratique un des plus vieux m茅tiers dans le monde, dit Fran莽ois au d茅but de la soir茅e. Les histoires nous aident 脿 collaborer pour le meilleur et pour le pire. Dans l'ancien temps, le troubadour 茅tait le premier 脿 franchir la ligne de l鈥檈nnemie.禄
芦Quand on entend une bonne histoire, on s鈥檃ccroche.听Souvent, on raconte les souvenirs. Quand on raconte nos souvenirs, c鈥檈st diff茅rent de notre v茅cu.禄
