Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians (AEBC)
AEBC Scholarship Program – Each year, the AEBC offers scholarships to recognize outstanding blind, deaf-blind and partially sighted post-secondary school students. Applicants need only apply once as they will be considered for all scholarships for which they qualify.
AQEIPS Scholarships Program
The Quebec Association for Equity and Inclusion in Post-Secondary Education (AQEIPS) offers a scholarships program for post-secondary students with disabilities.
Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarship Program
Applicants to this Scholarship Program must be either hard of hearing, deafened or oral deaf. Support documentation is required. Eligible applicants may be first-time or returning post-secondary students, registered in a full time program. Field of study is not a factor in the selection process. Eligibility is based on an overall assessment of the applicant including academic achievement, determination to cope with hearing loss, and community involvement.
Childhood Cancer Survivor Scholarship
For full-time post-secondary students who have been treated for childhood cancer (diagnosis must have occurred before or on your 18th birthday).
CNIB Scholarships
Every year, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) scholarship program awards multiple scholarships, bursaries and other awards to people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision in their educational journeys. From youth entering apprenticeships or skilled trades to adults enrolling in continuing education or certificate programs – and everyone in between – there are multiple scholarships, bursaries, and other educational awards available.
It’s not just about grades. Scholarships are awarded based on a wide range of factors, including financial need, location, community involvement, demonstrated resilience to overcoming barriers, leadership skills, ambitions, achievements, and goals. Students pursuing a diploma or degree, skilled trades certificate, apprenticeship, continuing education program, or post-graduate degree are encouraged to apply.
Evelyn Joy Abramowicz Scholarship
Based on academic merit, this scholarship is awarded to a student with a disability entering CEGEP or enrolled in a university program.
NEADS Equity Through Education Awards
These awards are for students with a disability enrolled in 40% or greater course load who show commitment to their academic discipline, have a record of volunteerism and/or employment and who demonstrate potential to be an outstanding participant in the community.
